It is the day before we leave....

This is the scene from our terrace. We have a really major snow storm over the US East Coast at the moment and all three area airports have many flight cancellations. We are forecast to have as much as a foot (30 cm) of snow in New York City and there are high winds forecast. It is expected to be over later tonight or early tomorrow morning. Our flight from La Guardia Airport New York to Houston TX is at 3.50 p.m. so we might make it but we will have to see what chaos remains at the airports in the morning. We are, of course, hoping that we do not lose a day of our vacation to this late storm, (note: it was the first day of spring on 20th March - yesterday!!!).

Packing is going ahead as if nothing is happening but it is hard not to cast an eye outside and see the snow piling up on the window sills and terrace.

All we can do is keep our fingers crossed and watch the news and the United Airlines website.

We managed to check in and improve our seats 24 hours before departure so things are moving along and we will see where they lead.

...and would you believe it?, the building elevator has broken down!!
